Ken Vonasek
2024 Hall of Fame Inductee

For the past two decades, Ken Vonasek has been a champion for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest. As a long-time resident of Marlborough and a retired manager from the former Digital Equipment Corporation, Ken discovered his passion for the organization’s mission through a personal connection - his son's participation in the middle school basketball program.

After learning more about the mission and impact on youth, Ken volunteered as a math tutor at the Hudson Clubhouse. This experience solidified his understanding of the mission and only furthered his desire to contribute further.

In 2006, Ken joined the Resource Development Committee and later joined the Board of Directors. Throughout his tenure, Ken served as the Chairman of the Resource Development Committee and in 2008, served as the Gala Chairman. Ken’s leadership and commitment to the organization’s overall success was evident through his active participation on the Executive Committee and his pivotal role in fundraising.

As the Chairman of the Resource Development Committee, Ken supported the selection and implementation of an upgraded donor management software, as well as the planning and executing of a number of fundraising events. These events include the Annual Gala & Auction, golf tournaments, no-show events, Festival of Trees, and even the innovative virtual Gala’s during the pandemic – Ken’s support has been consistent and impactful.

As a committee and Board Member, Ken takes his role of communicating the Club’s fundraising needs and strategies to the full Board very seriously. Through his dedicated leadership, Ken has fostered a culture of strategic fundraising and works to ensure the Clubs have the resources necessary to provide a safe haven for countless children.

Ken’s journey embodies the spirit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest and we are honored to induct Ken into the Hall of Fame. After 20 years of active participation, it is clear that Ken’s true passion lies in supporting the future of MetroWest’s youth through his unwavering commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest mission.
