The Boys and Girls Clubs in Framingham, Marlborough, and Hudson need help to support kids over the February school break.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of MetroWest is kicking off a special fundraiser to support local students over the upcoming February vacation. The “high 5” fundraiser is seeking donations in increments of $5 — which is enough to provide a meal for a young person during the school break.
The fundraiser will support programming at the clubhouses in Marlborough, Hudson, and Framingham. The fundraiser begins on Feb. 3 and runs through the end of the month.
Donations big and small help, the nonprofit says. For example, a $100 donation is enough to pay for a full week’s activities for a young person.
“One $5 donation, or high five, will provide lunch for one member during vacation. Three high fives, or $15, will cover the cost to purchase supplies to run arts and crafts during February vacation. Five high fives, or $25, will make it possible for one member to attend the Club for one day during vacation,” the Boys and Girls Clubs said in a press release.
Local public schools — including Framingham, Sudbury, Wayland, and Marlborough — have winter break from Feb. 21 to Feb. 21. Close to 4,000 kids from around the MetroWest use the local clubhouses outside of school hours, according to the nonprofit.
