Julie's connection to the Boys & Girls Club began early in life as her parents, Paul & Noreen Mina, both worked at the Worcester Boys & Girls Club. Growing up, she spent eight summers at Camp Hargrove, a BGC summer camp, where she made friends with Club kids and learned the organization's values.

During her time studying Corporate Communications at Framingham State College, Julie worked as a direct service staff member at the Hollis Street Clubhouse in Framingham, where she built strong relationships with Club members and colleagues that continue to be an important part of her life.

After completing her degree, Julie spent nearly 15 years working as a professional fundraiser for nonprofits serving youth, families, and women's economic empowerment. Of all the organizations she worked with, she considers the eight years leading fundraising efforts for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest to be the most impactful and transformational of her career.
